Jalen Supancic, a 2014 graduate of Plato High School, is the statewide winner of a $1,500 scholarship awarded by FutureBuilders, the educational foundation of the Missouri School Boards’ Association.
A $750 scholarship is awarded to a student in each of MSBA’s 17 regions. From that group the statewide winner is selected. Applicants were judged on the basis of academic performance, extracurricular activities and the quality of an essay. More than 200 scholarship applications were submitted this year.
Supancic was recognized during MSBA’s Leadership Summit banquet Friday at the Lake of the Ozarks. The Missouri School Boards’ Association is a private, not-for-profit organization that exists to help school boards succeed.Â
