Tanner Cantrell’s record-setting season was rewarded with a spot on the first team all-state team.
Cantrell, who batted .591 his junior season to set a new Houston High School record, was selected as an infielder on the Missouri High School Baseball Coaches Association’s Class 3 team.
A third baseman, Cantrell led the HHS offense is nearly every offensive category. Along with his team-best batting average, he led the team in hits (39), doubles (12), home runs (4), RBIs (32), walks (10), on-base percentage (.649) and slugging (1.015). He struck out just two times in 66 at-bats.
Licking junior Lane Duncan joined Cantrell as a first team selection on the infield. Ava’s Ben Loge and Licking’s Colton Case were honorable mention pitchers.
