Several people were found living illegally in a southeast Texas County house after a Nevada property owner reported it.
A 22-year-old victim from North Las Vegas, Nev., called the Texas County Sheriff’s Department on July 9 to report that someone was living illegally in a home she owns on Harlow Road near Summersville.
An investigating officer made contact with several people at the house, including a woman who claimed her mother owned the residence. The officer spoke with the mother, 51, and advised her and other people there that he had looked over the deeds to the property and the Nevada woman was the rightful owner.
Investigation of the case revealed that multiple items had likely been swiped from the house, including Indian artifacts valued at $2,000.
A report was sent to the county prosecutor.
