A telethon for The Animal Shelter of Texas County (TASTC) aired multiple times last weekend on two Springfield television channels.

Produced by the crew of Downtown Houston Afterhours, which regularly airs at 6:30 a.m. Sunday on KOZL (channel 27), the program was aired 4 p.m. Saturday on KOZL and again at 10:30 a.m. Sunday on sister station KOLR10. TASTC was also featured on KOZL during the weekly program about Houston.

“We believe this to be the first televised telethon for a local charity and appreciate the sponsors who enabled the production,” said crewmember David Klotz on Monday.

Several community businesses sponsored the program, and its production was donated by the Downtown Houston Afterhours crew.

“We feel blessed to be able to utilize Ozarks First’s wide television reach to promote this community and local charity groups,” Klotz said. “We hope folks will be moved to support TASTC in the future.”
