Lonnie Carl Gayer, 58, passed away Thursday, July 17, 2014, in Cabool.
He was born Dec. 22, 1956, in Wichita, Kan., son of Louis Franklin and Rosa Wanona Tucker Gayer
He found work as a maintenance man for rental property in Lawton, Okla., after going there following a tornado. The property was eventually willed to him. He also worked for Southwest AMC Theater as a rigger. He traveled to Disney World in Florida and then across the country to Disneyland in California, setting up movie screens and sound systems.
While in Oklahoma, he began working at a lawn mower and small engine repair shop with George. They became good friends. He also worked for and became good friends with his neighbors, Kelly and Bub in Oklahoma. He also had a special friend, Nancy Gee.
He loved to fish, play games, especially Farkle, and go to garage sales with George. He was a comedian and prankster.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Andrew Gayer and Larry Gayer.
Survivors include his son, Ronnie Dean Gayer of Mountain View; a daughter, Nina Pauline Gayer of Walters, Okla.; five grandchildren; three brothers, Orval Gayer and Delbert Gayer of Cabool and Lynn Gayer of Houston; two sisters, Tresa Meisenheimer of Jackson and Bessie Simons of Wichita, Kan.; his dog, Chole; and many other relatives and friends.
Memorial services are 2 p.m. Saturday, July 26, at Brown Hill Baptist Church with his brothers, Orval, Delbert and Lynn Gayer, speaking. Cremation was under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
