Texas County deputies recently handled several investigations.

The following reports were generated last week by the Texas County Sheriff’s Department:

•A 30-year-old Cabool man reported on June 22 that three men had damaged his car while it was parked by the river near Highway M.

The man told an investigating officer he had taken his children there to swim and the three men made threats, hit his car and spit on it. He gave a license plate number of the vehicle the suspects left in and it checked to a 38-year-old Cabool man.

The officer contacted the man, who claimed innocence, but named two other Cabool men, ages 44 and 32. The investigation continues.

•A deputy was dispatched at 3:30 p.m. June 23 regarding a report of a burglary at a Crane Drive residence at Bucyrus.

A woman who lives there (age unknown) told the officer some prescription medication, movies and items of art had been swiped, with a total value of $215. There are no suspects.

•A deputy was dispatched at 11:20 a.m. June 29 regarding a report of a domestic dispute at a Boiling Springs Road residence at Licking.

A 42-year-old man at the location told the officer his 16-year-old son had come home in a bad mood and called his mother names. During the investigation, the officer determined the man had an outstanding warrant for a traffic offense. He was arrested and taken to jail.

•A deputy was dispatched at about 5 p.m. June 23 regarding a peace disturbance at a Brushy Creek Road residence at Houston.

A woman who lives there told the officer another woman had come to her home and assaulted her. She stated she would come to the TCSD office and turn in a statement, but the officer reported she never did.

The officer made contact with the suspect, who denied the alleged assault took place.

•An officer was dispatched at about 3 p.m. June 28 for a well-being check at the Cabool Apartments. The officer stated the apartment he was to check was empty.

•A woman reported at about 4:10 p.m. June 22 that her husband and his father had come to her Whispering Pines Lane residence at Licking to take away the TV because the couple was separating. An investigating officer reported the woman refused to sign a statement and was advised the TV was marital property.

•A deputy and the TCSD drug K-9, Tara, were dispatched at 2:40 a.m. June 27 after a Licking police officer requested the dog sniff a motorcycle belonging to a man who had been stopped on Highway 32.

The dog reportedly did not display a positive alert.

•A deputy was dispatched at about 3:25 a.m. June 27 regarding a report of an alarm at a Highway AU residence.

The officer stated he observed no sign of criminal activity, but did see an empty home with small dogs running loose.

•Deputies were dispatched at about 3 a.m. June 23 after a woman reported a break-in at her Highway 17 residence. Upon arrival, officers determined the suspect was the woman’s father staying the night.

•An officer was dispatched at about 1:05 a.m. June 24 after a woman reported a boy missing from her Turley Road residence at Plato. While the officer was gathering information at the scene, the boy showed up and stated he had just needed to get away for a while.

•A 68-year-old Plato man came to the TCSD office June 25 and reported that his former daughter-in-law – a 53-year-old Plato woman – had several of his possessions without his consent and wouldn’t return them.

The man said items the woman had that belonged to him included an arrowhead collection valued at $2,500, an iPad worth $1,000 and a couch and throw pillows estimated at $500. The man stated he had tried to keep law enforcement out of the matter by utilizing the services of an attorney, but had gotten no results.
