The Texas County Commission will hold a public hearing Wednesday, July 30, as it applies for a $1 million grant for the Summersville School District under the Start Smart Community Development Block Grant program.
If successful, the improvements would allow for the construction of an Early Childhood Education Center on the elementary school campus at Summersville. The proposed facility includes four classrooms, a special education classroom, a prep kitchen, restrooms and fixtures designed for children, ages 3 and 4, with plans to add those age 2.
The hearing is at 10:30 a.m. on the third floor of the Texas County Administrative Center.
Under the proposal, the school district would contribute $5,000 and $42,500 in in-kind administrative work.
