The following reports were generated last week by the Texas County Sheriff’s Department:

•A deputy was dispatched at about 6:20 p.m. Aug 1 after a Licking man reported keys stolen from his Bean Creek Drive residence. Upon arrival, the officer found the keys hanging on the man’s rocking chair.

•A deputy was dispatched at about 11 p.m. Aug. 1 regarding a report of people fighting in the yard of a Deer Run Drive residence at Licking. The combatants were gone when the officer arrived.

•A man called at about 10 p.m. Aug. 2 to report that his stepdaughter, who was visiting from Texas, had run away. An investigating officer located the girl at her sister’s house in Houston, and she and her sister both stated she had permission to be there.

The officer contacted the woman who is the girl’s legal guardian, and she confirmed it was OK for the girl to be at her sister’s house. The stepfather was contacted and advised of the situation.

•An officer was contacted by the Houston Police Department at about 9 p.m. July 25 regarding a report of kids home alone at a Forrest Drive residence. Upon arrival, the officer determined the only person at the residence was an adult male.

•A deputy was dispatched at about 5:45 a.m. Aug. 8 to a Camden Lane residence at Bucyrus. The officer made contact with a 55-year-old woman at the location who has severe health issues and stated she was agitated because her doctor had taken her off of her Xanax prescription and that she needed the drug to keep calm.

The officer stated the woman relaxed after a few minutes, and she was advised to contact her doctor.

•Deputies were dispatched at about 7:20 a.m. Aug. 6 regarding a report of a burglary at a lumber and trucking business on Crow Road at Licking.

The man who owns the business told an investigating officer that somebody had broken into a shop building at the property and swiped numerous power tools and other items with a total value of $2,056. The man named a 19-year-old former employee as a suspect.

•A deputy was dispatched at about 1:15 a.m. July 27 regarding a report of a suspicious vehicle parked in the yard of Highway 17 residence at Success. The officer determined the vehicle belonged to a friend of the landowners.

•A 40-year-old Plato woman reported at about 6:30 p.m. Aug. 7 that her Daisy Drive residence had been burglarized.

The woman told an investigating officer that numerous items had been swiped (with a total value of $7,200), including an ATV, power tools, other tools and box of antique knives worth $5,000. There are no suspects.
