The Houston Police Department handled several investigations during the last week.

The following reports were generated last week by the Houston Police Department:

•An officer was dispatched at about 3:30 a.m. Aug. 17 regarding a report of a burglary at a Steffens Street residence in Houston. A 25-year-old man who lives there told the officer he had left at about 6 p.m. the previous evening and when he returned he found the front door unlocked and several items missing.

The man said swiped goods included electronics, DVDs and prescription medication with a total value of $1,045. There are no suspects.

•Two Cabool men were cited for stealing under $500 and one was ticketed for speeding following a traffic stop on U.S. 63 at about 10:35 p.m. Aug. 22.

An officer made the stop after observing a tan Ford Explorer traveling 65 miles per hour in a 50 mph zone. After making contact with the driver and the vehicle’s other occupants, the officer observed the driver acting in a nervous manner and asked for and received consent to search the vehicle.

Several items were subsequently found that were determined to have been stolen from the Houston Walmart Supercenter.

Cited for stealing were Clayton W. Grogan, 27, and Nicholas C. Moon, 20, both of Shelton Drive, Lot 7, in Cabool. Moon was driving and also received a speeding ticket.

•Macie D. Hayes, 23, of 10947 Higgins Drive in Licking, was issued a citation for third-degree assault after an incident at an Ozark Street residence at about 11:40 p.m. Aug. 14.

Hayes was cited after an investigating officer determined she had pushed a 42-year-old woman who lives at the location, causing her to fall to the ground and injure her wrist.

•Officers responded to a Dumpster fire July 30 at Oak and Davis streets and another Aug. 2 behind the Houston Housing Authority.

An investigation of the blazes led to the arrest of a 17-year-old male and a 17-year-old female, both of Houston. Probable cause statements were sent to the county prosecutor seeking charges against each suspect.

The City of Houston Fire Department responded to and extinguished both fires.

•Jesse D. Lane, 32, of 126910 Atchison Lane at Plato, was arrested Aug. 23 for having an active Texas County felony warrant for first-degree tampering with a motor vehicle.

An officer arrested Lane in the parking lot of the Texas County Justice Center. He was jailed and held on $150,000 bond.

•Billy J. Goodwin, 37, of 521 Florence St. in Houston, was arrested Aug. 19 for having an active Hartville police warrant for failure to appear on a driving while revoked charge. An officer arrested Goodwin after observing him attending city court. He was taken to the Texas County Jail and held awaiting extradition.

•Thomas E. Gibson, 50, of 521 Florence St. in Houston, was arrested for having an active Texas County warrant for charges of felony DWI (persistent offender), driving while revoked, failure to register a motor vehicle and no insurance.

Gibson was arrested at his residence and taken to the Texas County Jail. He is held on $150,000 bond.

•Two county residents were each cited for minor in possession of alcohol by consumption after an incident on Airport Road at about 3 a.m. Aug. 18.

An officer stated in a report that he was was driving past the Skyview Terrace apartment complex and heard a person yell something as he went by.

He turned around and made contact with a male and female sitting on a curb and asked if everything was OK. While speaking with them, the officer observed that they appeared intoxicated and smelled a strong odor of alcohol.

After an investigation, Tylor D. Williams, 20, of 12010 Wheeling Lane, in Plato, and Cassie L. Duncan, 19, of 777 W. Highway 17, Apt. 10, in Houston, were each cited.
