Officers with the Licking Police Department conducted a drug investigation last Saturday at the South Central Correctional Center that resulted in the arrest of a Joplin man.
According to a report by LPD Cpl. Patrick Burton, a combined effort by the LPD K9 unit and prison personnel led to the discovery and seizure of about three grams of a white powdery substance, which was identified as heroin, inside a vehicle in the facility’s parking area.
Kerbee Tyler, 22, of Joplin, was arrested at the scene on charges of distribution of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
