Knapweed in a field.

The Texas County Township Advisory Board will conduct its quarterly meeting Monday evening (Aug. 25), and discussions will include the matter of controlling noxious weeds – primarily spotted knapweed and musk thistle.

Advisory board chairman Jack Watson said all citizens are encouraged to attend, and a panel of experts would be on hand to answer questions, including Missouri Department of Conservation representative Leslie Holt, Missouri Department of Transportation representative Chris Rutledge, MFA representatives David Moore, Darrell Scheets and Darren Scheets and local farmer Julius Fraley.

State Rep. Robert Ross and State Sen. Mike Cunningham are also expected to attend.

The 7 p.m. meeting will be at the Texas County Justice Center on Grand Avenue in Houston.
