Alida Marie (Boyd) Holt, 80, Success, Mo., passed away Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2014, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Mo., with her daughter by her side.
Alida was born Nov. 20, 1933, at Eunice, Mo., the eleventh child of Millard F. and Samanthy E. (Morgan) Boyd. She was united in marriage Jan. 5, 1953 to James R. Holt of Ogemaw, Ark.
Alida grew up at Eunice, Mo., and attended Pine Flat School. She was a military wife, homemaker, avid gardener and quilter. She was also a Sunday School teacher for over 40 years to many junior level students.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three sons, James C. Holt, Charles Holt, and Michael Holt; one sister, Vera Stark; and five brothers, Harry Boyd, Wade Boyd, Joseph Boyd, Leyburn Boyd and Ottis Boyd.
She is survived by her husband; one daughter, Maryann Holt; three sisters, Velma Bailey, Tressie Pursifull and Dovie Garrett and husband Leonard (Bud); one brother Troy Boyd; several nieces and nephews; and many, many friends.
Funeral services were 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, 2014, at Evans Funeral Home, Houston, Mo., with the Rev. Marcus Kinserlow officiating. Pallbearers were Elmer Bailey, Alvin Barton, Lexey Neal, Jerold Pursifull, Charles Smith and Kien Su. Burial was in Union Chapel Cemetery, Eunice, Mo. Services were under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
