University Extension in Houston will host a meeting on beekeeping.

The University of Missouri’s Texas County Extension office will host a beekeeping meeting from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19, at its office in Houston.

This workshop will focus on fall hive management and preparing hives for overwintering. The public is invited.

Extension beekeeping meetings provide resources to local beekeepers, allows networking opportunities to learn and grow from experienced beekeepers and helps individuals interested in beekeeping produce healthy, happy bees.

Beekeeping resources and books will be available for purchase from the Extension office.
