Charles Lee Ward, 61, passed away Thursday, Sept. 11, 2014, in Houston.
He was born May 30, 1953, in Yukon, son of Charles Ward and Nancy Parks Sucher. He and Delores Walker were married in 1972. He married Bonnie Vanderpool on June 4, 1988, in St. Charles High School.
He began grade school in Summersville but spent the remainder of his school years in St. Charles. He graduated from St. Charles High School in 1971 and moved to Houston.
He was employed by Brown Shoe Company, Tuttle Gas Company and the Durham Company.
Survivors include his wife, Bonnie of the home; a son, Byron of O’Fallon; three grandchildren; two stepsons, Earl and Rick Vanderpool; three step-grandchildren; his father and stepmother, Charles and Anna Belle Ward; his mother and stepfather, Nancy and LeRoy Sucher; a sister, Betty Walton; a half brother, Vince Sucher; and a stepsister, Gail Marty.
Services were Saturday, Sept. 13, at Evans Funeral Home with Don Elliott officiating. Cremation was under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
