Deborah Elizabeth Shaw McVicker, 59, passed away Thursday, Sept. 25, 2014, at her home.
She was born Dec. 31, 1954, in Murray, Ky., daughter of Chester “Chet” Hayes Shaw and Mary “Betty” Elizabeth Shaw. She and Billy Ray McVicker were married July 19, 1980.
She graduated from Summersville R-II Schools in 1973. She professed her faith at a young age and was baptized at the First Baptist Church in Summersville with Pastor William F. Carter. She was a member of the Community Bible Study, where she was the director of the children’s activities. She made many friends, enjoyed the women’s retreat and being in fellowship with other Christians.
She was preceded in death by her infant son, Nathan Shaw McVicker; and her parents.
Survivors include her husband, Billy of the home; two sons, Matthew of Summersville and Adam of Mountain View; five grandchildren; four sisters, Wanda Cooley of Mountain View, Donna Franklin of Sedalia, Cheta Currence of Ozark and Alesia Talley of Springfield; and many extended family members.
Services were Saturday, Sept. 27, at Bradford Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Steelman officiating. Burial was in Oakside Cemetery.
