Houston High School choir members Taylor Bryson and Elisa Williamson joined 250 other junior and senior choir members from 32 schools last weekend at the Missouri State University Invitational Honors Choir.
“I can’t express how amazing of an opportunity this was,” Bryson said. “Not only to be able to take part in such a great choir, but to make connections with future instructors and fellow students. I am so excited about my future in choral music and being part of Missouri State University”
The choir rehearsed Friday and Saturday with a concert Saturday afternoon at the Hammons Hall for the Performing Arts.
“Throughout the school year, our choir competes against other choirs across our district,” Williamson said. “To some, the other choir members become Houston’s rivals. To be able to go from being rivals to participating on the same team, performing the same songs, and working towards the same goal was really inspiring. In those two days, our former rivals became my friends, and that was my favorite part of being part of the MSU Honors Choir.”
