Hamilton Native Outpost co-owner Rex Hamilton, right, talks with Mike Vinson (of Flowery Branch, Ga.) during an event last Saturday.

Hamilton Native Outpost, a family-owned business specializing in growing and marketing native Missouri plants and seed, hosted a sorghum molasses making event last Saturday.

Visitors were treated to taking home a jar of syrup made from freshly pressed and processed sorghum cane grown at the firm’s 1,700 acre property on Hog Creek between Solo and Elk Creek.
