Planning meeting set for market event in October

Friends of the Houston Farmers Market are invited to a planning meeting Thursday (Sept. 4) at the Houston Visitors Center.

It begins at 7:30 p.m.

A “Houston Farmers Market Extravaganza 2014!” sponsored by Downtown Houston Inc. and being organized by a subcommittee is being planned for a Friday in October.  No date has been set.

The event would take place in downtown Houston adjacent to the Houston Farmers Market.  Local food, crafts and anything made or produced in the area will be featured. 

Growers, crafts people, small farm and grower suppliers, agencies that serve rural communities and any business that would like exposure to customers will be invited to be part of the daylong event. 

Downtown Houston Inc. hopes to promote it so that it brings in 100s of new and existing customers to downtown Houston.
