The theme for Houston High School’s 2014 homecoming is “Send ‘Em Down in the History Books.” The parade is scheduled to arrive downtown around 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3. Queen coronation is 6:30 p.m. prior to the HHS football game against Willow Springs.

Anyone wishing to enter the parade should call the HHS office or email Jeri Welch at jwelch@houston.k12.mo.us.

The Houston Alumni Association has several activities planned for the weekend. Members are asking for members of graduating classes ending in “4” and “9” to decorate merchants’ windows with memorabilia.

A mixer with alumni is 2-4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, at Hiett Gymnasium. A short program will begin at 3 p.m. with alumni updates, scholarship reports and honored classes ending in “4” and “9” recognized. There is no charge. A 1980’s party street dance is downtown beginning at 5 p.m. Saturday.

On Sunday, the Houston Lions Club will host a fish fry from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the community building at the fairgrounds on North U.S. 63.
