Texas County Sheriff James Sigman sustained a shoulder injury during a foot pursuit of a suspect Sept. 16.
Sigman said he tripped while chasing a man down a logging road.
“It was pretty rough ground and I took a tumble over something,” he said. “I landed on my shoulder and at this point all I know is I’ve got a tear.”
Sigman has already had an MRI and will travel Tuesday to Ozark for a consultation with an orthopedic surgeon.
“We’ll go from there,” he said. “I’m under the impression it’s going to need surgery to repair it.”
Despite the injury, Sigman has continued to work.
“I might not be worth as much as I was before, but I’m still here,” he said. “I’ll survive this.”
