Betty Roderick, 67, passed away Oct. 11, 2014, at her home.
She was born Nov. 18, 1946, in Huggins, daughter of Lyle and Laura Denton Massey. She and Wayne Roderick were married May 29, 1964.
She attended the Number One Elementary School and graduated from Houston High School in 1964.
She lived many different places over the years, including Springfield, Kansas City, Fairfield, Ill., Camp Douglas, Wisc., Spring City, Tenn., Bangkok, Thailand, Sandspring, Okla., and Upton.
Her passions were her children and grandchildren. She loved to go camping, crochet, gardening, arts and crafts and making beaded jewelry. She was known for her homemade pies and candies, especially her peanut brittle.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, James Massey.
Survivors include her husband, Wayne Roderick of Upton; three sons, Kevin of Cabool, Keith of Columbia and Kris of Huggins; a brother, Gary Massey of Huggins; two sisters, Tammy Richardson of Success and Ina Kalina of Boron, Calif.; and seven grandchildren.
Services were Wednesday, Oct. 15, at Hickory Ridge Baptist Church with Dr. Dennis Maxwell officiating. Burial will be in Hickory Ridge Cemetery under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
