Texas County turns 170 on Saturday.

The Texas County Commission is hosting public forum to discuss the recently released audit at 7 p.m. Thursday the multi-purpose room at the Texas County Justice Center on Grand Avenue in Houston.

Commissioners said all elected county officials have been invited to attend, as well as a spokesperson for the state auditor’s office. Citizens of Texas County are urged to participate by asking questions and voicing concerns.

State Auditor Thomas Schweich recently issued his report that gave Texas County a “poor” rating for its account procedures, which is the lowest of four ratings given by his office.
