David L. Schwartzkopf, 65, passed away Friday, Oct. 17, 2014, at his home in Elk Creek.
He was born Sept. 19, 1949, in Casper, Wyo., son of Lawrence and Harrie Foss Schwartzkopf.
He grew up around Yellowstone National Park and was raised on a ranch in Glen Rock, Wyo.
He served in the Army from 1967 until 1984. He worked as a construction supervisor all over the United States.
He loved riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle and watching NASCAR. David was a member of the National Rifle Association and enjoyed hunting, fishing and traveling.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a younger brother, Larry Schwartzkopf.
Survivors include his wife, Pam Riegel of the home in Elk Creek; two daughters, Heather Decker of Cabool and Teresa Schwartzkopf of Dallas Texas; a stepson, Frank Riegel of Grifton, N.C.; a stepdaughter, Deb McQueen of Garden City, Kan.; a sister, Penny Gannon; 15 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Cremation was under the direction of Evans Funeral Home. A private service will be held at a later date.
