GARY SMITH

Gary Mark Smith, 54, son of Gary Marshall and Eunice Berniece (Hale) Smith, was born March 15, 1960, at Houston, Mo. He passed away Oct. 21, 2014, at his home in Bridgeton, Mo.

Mark grew up in Success and attended school there before going to high school in Houston. When Gary and Eunice moved their family to Hazelwood in August of 1977, Mark entered his senior year at Hazelwood West. He graduated in 1978.

He was preceded in death by his father, Gary; and his grandparents, Wilbert and Ruby (Burris) Smith and Herbert and Myrtle (Maggard) Hale.

Mark is survived by his mother, Eunice of Hazelwood, Mo.; his daughter, Jessee and her husband, John Wheeler, of Bucyrus, Mo.; his brothers, Hank of Hazelwood, Mo.; Kent of Catawissa, Mo., Dirk of Hazelwood, Mo., and Herb of St. Peters, Mo.; granddaughters, Jada of Solo, Mo., and Jenna of Bucyrus, Mo.; his nieces; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Mark was a truck driver by trade and always took pride in getting whatever he may be hauling to its destination on time. He also loved his Harley Davidson motorcycles and spent many hours riding with his brother, cousins and friends. Mark enjoyed attending church and was saved and baptized. He also took joy in calling to visit with family members and friends. Mark never met a stranger, always greeting everyone with a big grin.

While his time on earth was short, we know he is enjoying his reunion with all those that have gone on before him. He will be truly missed by all those that knew and loved him.
