Houston High School graduate Britany Cheek continues to enjoy success in her coaching career.
Cheek led the Billings volleyball team to its second straight district championship this season. It was the third title in four years for the program.
Billings won eight total matches the two seasons before Cheek, a 2006 HHS graduate, arrived. She has combined 93 victories in her five seasons as head coach.
The second seed in this year’s Class 1 District 8 tournament, Billings beat top-seeded Lockwood 25-23, 26-28, 25-21.
Billings was defeated 25-20, 25-16 in sectional play by Winona, which also won its quarterfinal match to advance to the state semifinals for the second straight year.
