Houston police officers handled several investigations during the last week.

The following reports were generated by the Houston Police Department:

•Joshua A. Laster, 22, of 725 W. Highway 17 in Houston, was arrested Oct. 19 for having an active Texas County warrant for two counts of non-support.

•Dalton R. Edington, 19, of 17393 Primrose Drive in Houston, and Quinton T. Alston, 18, of 16005 Forrest Drive in Houston, were each issued citations for minor in possession of alcohol by consumption after a traffic stop on Pine Street at about 12:20 a.m. Oct. 25. An officer made the stop after observing a Toyota passenger car traveling on Pine Street with only one operational headlight. After making contact with the occupants of the car, the officer smelled alcohol and portable breath tests were conducted.

•Jackson C. Morgan, 37, of 4073 Highway 137 in Elk Creek, was issued two citations for stealing under $500 by shoplifting after allegedly swiping bottles of whiskey from Walmart at about 10:30 a.m. Oct. 22 and again at about 2 p.m. the same day.

Store officials issued a trespass notice to Morgan, banning him from further entry. He was taken to the Texas County Jail and later released.

Kevin R. Esely, 37, of 3986 Girlstown Road in Mountain Grove, was issued citations for driving while intoxicated, leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident and careless and imprudent driving after an incident at about 8:50 p.m. Oct. 6.

Esely was cited after a Houston man reported that a silver Mitsubishi Eclipse had driven erratically in the backyard of his Oak Street residence, striking a canoe and a tree before driving off. The vehicle was later located at a U.S. 63 gas station and Esley was taken to the Texas County Jail.
