Leland “Lee” Haney, 91, of Ash Grove, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2014.

He was born July 20, 1923, in Houston, son of Lawrence and Mary Baker Haney. He and Jewell Moore were married in 1947.

He joined the Navy and served during World War II.

He worked as an electrical salesman and also as an electrician.

He and his wife, Jewell, enjoyed lapidary as they took stones and minerals and turned them into treasurers.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Bradford Lee Haney.

Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Jewell of the home in Ash Grove; a daughter, Shauna Latimer; and two granddaughters.

Graveside inurnment is 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 17, in Oak Hill Cemetery under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
