Lee C. Hutcheson, 84, of Cabool, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2014.

He was born Nov. 7, 1929, in Kansas City, son of Clifford and Ruby Clasbey Hutcheson. He and Joyce Ann Hopkins were married May 24, 1958.

He was baptized in 1942 and was a lifetime member of the Christian Church.

He received a bachelor’s degree from the University Of Kansas School Of Business in 1950. After an honorable discharge from the Air Force, he worked the Chevrolet Division of General Motors which allowed him a career pursuing his passion for automobiles. Chevrolet transferred the family several times until his final promotion to Detroit, Michigan.

He retired near Cabool in 1985 and spent several more years as fleet truck manager for Honeycutt Chevrolet.

In 1995, he joined the Texas County Republican Central Committee. He served two terms as chairman.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Joyce; a daughter, Heather; and three grandchildren.

Services were Monday, Oct. 24, at Cabool Christian Church with Pastor Jeff Randleman officiating. Burial with full military honors was in Cabool Cemetery under the direction of Elliott-Gentry-Carder Funeral Home.
