The Houston eighth grade girls’ basketball team hung tough with Ava before losing 47-25.
Elayna Sisk had six points for the Lady Tigers, who trailed by two points at the half. Ally Morgan scored five and Kennedy Campbell and Melody Buse’ added four apiece.
“I saw a lot of improvements from the first week,” HMS coach Kayla Sloan said. “At the half we were only down by two – another small success.”
SEVENTH GRADE: Janae Huff and Baylee Weaver scored four points apiece in the seventh grade’s 39-17 loss at Ava.
Madyson Tune added three points for Houston, which trailed 10-0 after the first quarter.
