Texas County deputies are investigating several crimes in the county.

The following reports were generated by the Texas County Sheriff’s Department:

•A deputy was dispatched at about 5 p.m. Nov. 8 regarding a property dispute on Highway U at Cabool.

The officer made contact with a man who lives there who stated he had put up a gate on a driveway he shares with a neighbor man and the resident keeps driving around it. The officer also contacted the neighbor and both men involved said a court date was already scheduled to deal with the matter.

The officer advised the first man to leave the gate open until the court date.

•A Houston woman reported Nov. 8 that she was worried because a man was scheduled to get out of prison who had threatened she and her daughter. She told an investigating officer she wanted the man to stay away from her Highway E residence.

The officer advised her to seek a protection order.

•Deputies were advised just after midnight Nov. 8 of several underage people consuming alcohol at a Primrose Drive residence at Houston. An officer went to the location and advised the people to leave. They did.

•An officer was dispatched at about 2:30 a.m. Nov. 2 regarding a report of a rollover accident on Highway 32 near Plato. The officer located a brown Chevrolet (model unreported) upside down in a ditch with nobody around.

The officer alerted Missouri State Highway Patrol and was advised the matter would be looked into in the morning.

•A deputy investigated a report of theft Nov. 8 at an Evergreen Road residence at Bucyrus.

The officer made contact with a man at the location who stated he was moving out and that the landlord had stolen a trailer, a chainsaw, a pig and some rabbits. The officer made contact with the landlord who claimed he thought the residence had been abandoned, so he took the animals and equipment to his house. He contacted the man who was moving out and told him to retrieve his belongings.

•Karen D. Rippinger, 50, of 5761 Hogan Road in Houston, was issued a citation Nov. 6 for animal abuse – failure to maintain control of animals after a dog she owns (a husky) allegedly killed several goats at a U.S. 63 south property at Houston.

•A 73-year-old Cabool man reported Nov. 7 that his 46-year-old granddaughter had taken his red 1995 Ford F-150 pickup from his Highway U residence and wouldn’t return it. The vehicle was listed as stolen and the woman was to be questioned if located.

•A deputy was dispatched Oct. 27 regarding a report of property damage at a Lancaster Lane residence at Plato.

After an investigation, the officer determined a small child had broken a solar light at a neighbor’s house. The two parties involved reached an agreement to have it replaced.

•A woman reported Nov. 2 at about 1 p.m. that a septic truck was pumping waste onto the ground at a Sunrise Drive property at Cabool. An investigating officer determined that water was being pumped through the truck’s hoses to clean them out.

•Kenneth H. Thayer, 55, of 12442 Roby Road at Roby, was issued a citation for peace disturbance at a public place of business after allegedly yelling profane language at his girlfriend inside the Small Town Diner in Roby at about 2:25 p.m. Oct. 30.
