Elsie Gwinn

Elsie Audrey (Beckham) Gwinn, 101, passed away Saturday, Nov. 22, 2014, at Houston House.

She was born Feb. 27, 1913, in Boonville, daughter of John Cicero and Ollie Brown Beckham.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Wanda Pollock.

Survivors include a daughter, Winona Smith of Boonville; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great grandchildren.

She was born and raised as one of 10 children in Bache, Okla. She was the last surviving sibling.

In 1934, she moved to California, where she raised her two daughters. From there, she moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, for several years. She moved to Houston in 1996.

Graveside services are Thursday, Dec. 4, in Boone Creek Cemetery in Licking with the Rev. Mike Brown officiating. Services are under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
