The Houston Middle School girls’ basketball teams tipped off their seasons this week at the Mountain Grove Tournament.
Elayna Sisk had six points and Madison Curtis added four in the eighth grade’s 37-15 loss Tuesday to Willow Springs.
On Monday, Charlee Sue Jadwin scored a team-best three points in a 47-8 loss to Thayer.
“We played better (on Tuesday) and as long as I see improvement night to night, we are doing our job,” HMS coach Kayla Sloan said. “I really think as the season progresses, these girls will begin to click.”
The seventh grade opened its season Monday with a 24-8 to Thayer. Four players – Kameron Hall, Janae Huff, Madyson Tune and Baylee Weaver – scored two points apiece.
On Tuesday, Jazmin Morton and Kelly Hubbs had four points apiece in Houston’s 34-14 loss to Cabool.
