LEROY KINDER

Leroy Franklin Kinder, 80, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2014, at Texas County Memorial Hospital.

He was born Aug. 16, 1934, at Lenox, son of Roy and Susie Harris Kinder. He and Barbara Lou Mahan Kinder were married Dec. 14, 1953.

He began his farming career at the age of 16 when he bought his first John Deere tractor. He purchased his first farm in 1958.

In addition to farming, he established Kinder Roofing in St. Louis during the 1960s. His love for the farms brought him back to the country, where he began custom lime and fertilizer spreading. This expanded to the opening of Kinder Plant Food in 1984 with his son, Roger.

He loved his family, raising cattle and coon hunting. He surrendered his entire life to Jesus Christ. He was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Norma Sargent; and a brother, Lynn Kinder.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara of the home; a son, Roger Kinder of Licking; two daughters, Deborah Smith and Wanda Moncrief of Licking; four grandsons; four granddaughters; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Services were Friday, Nov. 7, at Rock Springs Baptist Church with Pastors John Jordan and Lyndell Decker officiating. Burial was in Victor Cemetery in Anutt under direction of Fox Funeral Home.
