Roberta Lucille Dixon, 87, passed away Friday, Nov. 21, 2014, at Rolla Health and Rehabilitation Suites.
She was born Feb. 2, 1927, in Hannibal, daughter of Ray and Sarah Edna Tawney Stewart. She and Melvin Max Dixon were married March 4, 1943.
She moved to Licking with her father and seven siblings following the death of her mother when she was 12 years old. She enjoyed school and had hoped to be a teacher.
When her husband, Melvin, was called to military duty, she began working at the Rawlings Factory. In later years, she worked as a nurses’ aide.
She enjoyed cooking, sewing, and serving the Lord. She was baptized into Christ in her early 20s and was a member of the Licking Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin; her parents; three brothers, Roy, Fred and Bob; and two sisters, Helen and Mae.
Survivors include four children, Norman Dixon, Larry Dixon, Mary Jurgensmeyer and Joyce Wilson; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many friends.
Services were Tuesday, Nov. 25, at Fox Funeral Home Chapel with Roy Robertson speaking. Burial was in Williams Cemetery.
