Houston restaurant owner Cindy Fleming will host a spaghetti dinner Saturday to benefit the annual Share Your Christmas drive that aids Texas County children whose Christmas prospects may be bleak.
Share Your Christmas is designed to let people “adopt” needy children in Texas County and provide them with gifts of toys and clothing they wouldn’t otherwise receive. Its headquarters is at the Houston Lions Club Den on North U.S. 63.
The event is 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday at Whispering Pines Café, which is on U.S. 63 across from Emmett Kelly Park and next to Gas Plus. Cost is $6 a plate plus the cost of a drink.
Fleming said the business held a similar successful fundraiser last year that helped children.
Fleming said she’s driven to help those who have needs over the holiday, including those in foster care. She noted the business also will accept new toys to go toward the program.
