Texas County's jobless rate was 6.1 percent in November.

Texas County’s unemployment rate jumped nearly a full percentage point in November, reports the Missouri Department of Economic Development.

The figure was 6.1 percent, up nine-tenths of a percentage point from October.

The agency said the county’s civilian labor force was 11,346. Total employment stood at 10,659. Those unemployed stood at 687, which was up 89 from October.

In south-central Missouri, the average jobless rate in November was 5.4 percent. Area counties and their unemployment rates: Douglas, 5; Howell, 4.8; Shannon, 7.3; and Wright, 5.1.
