Deputies from the Texas County Sheriff's Department were called to several investigations in the last week.

The following are excerpts of reports generated by the Texas County Sheriff’s Department:

•A man called Dec. 6 to complain about littering and gates being blocked because of an auction at a property on Boiling Springs Road west of Licking. An investigating officer stated he was not able to confirm the complaints.

•A woman called Dec. 6 to report her former landlord was selling her belongings at an auction on Boiling Springs Road west of Licking. An officer advised the woman to come to the TCSD office and complete a statement to get a case started. She didn’t show up.

•A Houston woman called Nov. 27 to report a peace disturbance at a Northview Lane trailer park.

The woman told an investigating officer she and a woman who had formerly rented a room from her had been in a verbal dispute, but that they had reached an agreement and everything was fine.

•A woman called Nov. 29 to ask what she could do if someone came to her Cloverdale Road residence at Cabool wanting to fight her. An officer advised the woman to contact the TCSD if she needed help.

•A deputy was dispatched Nov. 26 after a Houston woman reported someone was looking at her through a window at her Arthur Creek Road residence. The officer stated in a report that he was unable to find footprints in the mud outside the window, and the window was about seven feet off the ground. He advised the woman he wasn’t able to locate a suspect.

An officer was dispatched to the same woman’s home on Nov. 30 after she reported a smokeless, odorless substance in her house was making her heart race. She told the officer her son had likely put the substance there.

The officer stated he was unable to locate a suspicious substance in the residence and didn’t observe anyone in the area. The woman was transported to the TCSD for a blood pressure evaluation.

•A 69-year-old Houston woman reported Nov. 29 that a red and white calf valued at $550 had been shot and killed on her German Road property. There are no suspects, but the woman stated she wanted to offer a $500 reward for the arrest and conviction of whoever was responsible.

An investigating officer stated the calf was apparently shot near a fence line and the incident may have been a case of a road-hunting mistake.

•A Houston woman reported Nov. 14 that about $100 worth of gasoline was stolen from two vehicles at her Morton Road residence. There are no suspects.

•A woman called Nov. 29 to report finding two pistols in a home she had purchased on Highway AP. An investigating officer determined they were air guns.
