Kylee Elmore is greeted by friends and family Monday night at Newburg after scoring her 1,000th career point.

Kylee Elmore wasted little time reaching 1,000 career points.

Houston won the opening tip of Monday night’s game at Newburg, and Elmore scored five seconds later for points 999 and 1,000 of her career. The Lady Tigers won the game 58-50.

Elmore, who finished with 16 points in the victory, had been on a scoring spree to open her senior season. She scored 20, 26 and 31 points in Houston’s first three games – all in the Lady Bulldog Invitational – and is averaging 23.3 points per game.

A four-year starter with the Lady Tigers, Elmore entered the season with 905 career points. The program and school scoring record is 1,953 points by Patti (Wright) Roberts from 1987-91.
