Filings closed Tuesday, Jan. 20, for several offices. 

Board filings for several school, city, township and water boards begin today.

The deadline for filing is 5 p.m. Jan. 20.

Here are the positions opening, along with the incumbents:

Houston board of education: Two, three-year terms held by Tadd McCloud and Jim Root.

Houston City Council: Mayor Don Tottingham and three positions on the city council held by David Arthur, Charles “Chalky” Wells and Mary Barnes, which are two year-terms.

Plato board of education: Two, three-year terms held by Dave Hall and Penny Morrison expire.

Raymondville board of education: The terms expiring are held by Justin Dixon and Allan Branstetter. Branstetter was appointed in November to fill Leland Johnston’s position after he resigned. Justin Dixon has moved from the district and his position is vacant.

Village of Raymondville: Dennis Grose, Mike Williams and Don Barton Jr. are the incumbents for the two-year terms.

Success board of education: Two, two-year terms held by Kevin Irwin and Michael Glidewell. Two, one-year terms held previously by Nancy Davis and Jason Burch, who resigned earlier, also will be filled.

Texas County Memorial Hospital board of trustees: Five-year term held by Janet Wiseman.

Texas County Health Department: The terms of Sally Smith and Dianne Ingalls expire. They are four-year terms.

Public Water Supply District No. 1: Three-year term of Ralph Garrett expires.

Public Water Supply District No. 2: Three-year terms, subdistrict #3, Junior Stoops; and subdistrict #5, Kent Swearengin.
