LLOYD WILLIS 

Lloyd H. Willis, formerly of Houston, 93, was called home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2014. Son of Elza Raymond and Effie May (Bailey) Willis, he was born April 14, 1921, in Licking, Mo.

Lloyd had resided in Springfield, Mo., for the past four years to be closer to family and needed health facilities. He was united in marriage to Bernetta Julian on Aug. 14, 1941. To their union was born two daughters and two sons, Sue, Jerry, Carol and Danny.

He was preceded in death by Bernetta in 2012 and daughter, Carol Ingram in 2009.

Surviving are his children, Sue Willis of Springfield, Mo., Jerry Willis and wife, Rochelle, of Independence, Mo., and Danny Willis of Battlefield, Mo. He is also survived by four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, with another great-grandson expected any day.

Lloyd and Bernetta were both longtime members of the First Baptist Church in Houston, Mo. Lloyd enjoyed working various duties for his church and was a deacon there for many years. He and Bernetta both missed the fellowship of their friends and fellow church members after moving to Springfield, Mo.

Services were 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 15 at Evans Funeral Home with Dr. Howell Burkhead officiating. Burial was in Pine Lawn Cemetery. Pallbearers were Randy Willis, Jerry Willis, Dan Willis, Jerry Ingram, Teresa Burcham and McKinzie Burcham.
