Marilyn Kay Ballard, 67, of Licking, passed away Thursday, Dec. 11, 2014, at Cox South Hospital.
She was born May 3, 1947, in Marion, Ohio, daughter of Carlos and Anna Belle Doolittle Ballard.
She loved to sing praises to God as well as country and western music. She also played the piano. She was an artist, enjoyed arts and crafts and was an avid reader. She collected elephants of all kinds. She had a passion for hats and loved dressing in loud, brightly colored clothes.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Carol Doyle; and two brothers, Carlos Ballard Jr. and Danny Michael Ballard.
Survivors include a daughter, Tabatha; two sons, Jay and Jesse; three grandsons; three sisters, Sally Guinn of Riverside, Ohio, Nancy Miller of Urbana, Ohio and Betty Messenger of Plato; a brother, Ted Ballard of Marion, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial services were Wednesday, Dec. 17, at Evans Funeral Home with Dr. Terry Snelling and Pastor Phillip McGuire officiating. Cremation was under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
