Revenue from sales taxes collected by Houston retailers was up about 6 percent during the latest monthly distribution from the Missouri Department of Revenue.
The total from a one-cent sales tax was $62,008, a jump of $3,874 from the same period a year ago. For the first 11 months of the year, the tally is $634,543, which is up $31,485 from 2013.
Two quarter-cent sales taxes also are collected for street, sidewalk and utility work. Each totaled about $14,795, which is up $788 on each from the same period a year ago. For the year, $151,418 has been generated from each tax. That’s up $6,316 on each for the year.
An eighth-cent sales tax for debt repayment on a fire truck totaled $7,398.
