All officers from Troop G of the Missouri State Highway Patrol who were assigned to duty in Ferguson have returned home safely, according to a spokesperson representing the agency.
Sgt. Jeff Kinder said he was not at liberty to share how many total troopers were sent to Ferguson or how many from Troop G, but that all Troop G personnel were back by Monday.
“I can tell you everybody is accounted for and well,” Kinder said.
Kinder said he was one of the troopers in Ferguson and returned Monday morning.
“It was a strange deal,” he said. “It’s not like anything I had ever been involved in before.”
Kinder said no Troop G officers are scheduled to go back in the foreseeable future.
“The patrol will continue to assist the St. Louis County Police Department and the Ferguson Police Department for a while,” he said. “I think it’s going to wrap up soon, but you never can tell with something like this.”
