The Houston Area Chamber of Commerce will meet its annual banquet Saturday, Jan. 10, at the community building on North U.S. 63.

The Houston Area Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual banquet this evening at the community building on North U.S. 63.

Social time begins at 6 p.m. and dinner starts at 6:30. The theme is “Together We Can Break the Record!”

The menu has a drive-in theme featuring hamburgers and cheeseburgers with all the trimmings, including french fries, coleslaw and banana splits.

Kathy Richardson of the Houston Herald is the speaker at the event and will present a program featuring historic and little-known information about Houston and Texas County in the 1950s and how things has changed. Chamber volunteers will be acknowledged and a Lifetime Achievement Award recipient will be recognized.

Members of the Houston chamber board are Gayla Bratton, Tammy Cantrell, Bud Evans, Jerad Gentry, Travis Rector, Tyler Romines, Bruce Scheets, Kim Stipanovich and Joe Stockard.

Following the program, a sock hop is planned with a DJ spinning 50s music. Contests will be held.

The cost of admission is $20 per person.
