Chief Master Sergeant Charles Henry Mallory (ret), age 79, passed away in his Roby, Mo., home on Jan. 6, 2015. Charles was born on April 5, 1935, in Dudley, Mo., to Melvin and Irene (Runyon) Mallory.

He married Bertha Marcella Ross on May 9, 1954. In October 1954, he joined the U.S. Air Force and completed tours of duty in Alaska, Turkey, Phillipines, Germany and Iran. He retired April 30 1982, after honorably serving over 27 years.

He is survived by his wife, Bertha; sons, Charles Kevin Mallory (Suzanne) and Burns Ross Mallory (Terri); daughter, Jessica Maude Mallory (Mark); granddaughters, Nicole Polen (Charles), Jamie Richardson (Dustin),Christine Bundren (Neill), Joni Garrett (Paul), Amber Stearns and Alexis Wills; grandsons, Brandon Wills, Henry and Robert Mallory; great-grandsons, Daniel and Malcolm Key, Trenton, Jared and Jesiah Richardson, Bruce Neil and Gavin Garrett; great-granddaughters, Elaina, Sara and Teiran Richardson, Isabelle and Reagan Garrett and Kristina Hoffman; brothers, Donald, McMillan (Mac), James, Lonnie, Kenneth and Dennis Mallory; and sisters, June Teets and Ruth Tippen.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sara Melinda Mallory; son; baby boy; great-granddaughter, Hannah Hoffman who died in infancy; sister, Irma Crank; and brothers, Daniel, Gerald and Duane Mallory.

A memorial service was held 11 a.m. Jan. 12, 2015, at Evans Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Villapiano officiating. Inurnment was at 2 p.m. in Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Waynesville, Mo. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
