David Quentin Decker, 84, passed away Monday, Jan. 5, 2015, at his home in Raymondville.
He was born April 30, 1930, in St. Louis, son of Albert and Goldie Mae Edwards Decker. He and Billie Barnes were married April 30, 1957, in St. Louis.
He worked at McDonald Aircraft, where he helped build the first Gemini missile for space. After moving to Licking, he farmed and raised cattle. He also did custom bailing, operated heavy equipment, built ponds and cleared land. He drove a school bus one year and worked in the logging industry with his son and grandsons.
He loved to hunt.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and infant sister; a brother, Edward Decker; and a great-granddaughter.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Billie; a son, Douglas Decker; a daughter, Sandra Decker; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; a special cousin, Sherry Moncrief; three sisters, Virginia Garber, June Hoffmann and Laura Williams; and many other family members.
Services were Saturday, Jan. 10, at Fox Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Tim Parker officiating.
