The deadline to file is 5 p.m. Tuesday, March 29.

Filings close today for a variety of elected posts for school, city, water and township boards.

The election is April 7.

Here’s a look at the latest filings:

• A Houston man is the latest to file for a seat on the Houston board of education. V. Leon Slape completed candidacy paperwork on Friday.

Also filing are Stacie Ely, incumbent Tadd McCloud, M. Kevin Reed and Dustin Smith.

The other incumbent is Jim Root. The seats are for three-year terms.

•Andrew Wells filed for the position held by Charles “Chalky” Wells, who completed paperwork earlier in Ward II.

Declaring earlier were: Don Tottingham and Kenton Rhea Yarnall, mayor; David Arthur, Ward III; and Mary Barnes, Ward I.

•A Raymondville woman is the latest person to file for the Texas County Health Department board. Aya Katz filed. Four people submitted candidacy paperwork earlier for two four-year terms on the health department board, including Toni Coomes Moberly, Caiti Burks and Linda Breedlove, all of Licking, and Houston resident Sally Smith, an incumbent. The other incumbent is Dianne Ingalls.

•Incumbent Janet Wiseman is seeking a five-year term on the Texas County Memorial Hospital board of trustees.

•Plato board of education: Filing for two, three-year seats are Dave Hall, Clint Todd and Penny Renee Morrison. The incumbents are Hall and Morrison.

•Success board of education: Filing for two, three-year terms are Michael Glidewell and Tyson Warner. Kevin Irwin is the other incumbent. Filing for two, one-year terms are Marilyn Knutson and Melissa Benson. They are filing for vacancies created when Nancy Davis and Jason Burch moved from the district.

•Raymondville board of education: Incumbent Allan Branstetter has filed for election to a three-year term. Justin Dixon moved from the district and his term will be filled.

•Village of Raymondville: Incumbent Dennis Grose has re-filed. The other incumbents, Mike Wilkins and Don Barton Jr., have not.

•Public Water Supply District No. 2: Filing for re-election to three-year terms are: subdistrict #3, Junior Stoops; and subdistrict #5, Kent Swearengin.
