A customer appreciation event is planned next month in downtown Houston.

Houston Farmers Market will hold its annual meeting from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the community building at the Houston Area Chamber of Commerce Fairgrounds.

Anyone interested in the market is invited to attend, including current vendors and others considering marketing.

On the agenda is setting market fees, and selecting a market manager, assistant manager, secretary-treasurer and board of directors.

Downtown Houston Inc. will present an update on grants it has received and progress on the market’s expansion, including developing a commercial kitchen in the Lone Star Plaza Annex. Presentations also are planned on a regional food hub study and the Healthy Schools Healthy Communities program in the county.

Items sold at the Houston Farmers Market need to be vendor grown or crafted and from Texas County and surrounding counties, not to exceed 50 miles.
