Feldra Belle Branham Venable, 84, passed away Monday, Jan. 26, 2015, at Houston House.
She was born June 30, 1930, in Climax, Kan., to Jessie Alvin and Leetie Belle (Howell) Branham. She and Charles Andrew Venable were married Aug. 19, 1948. They were later sealed in the Mesa LDS Temple on Dec. 29, 1967. To this union four children were born.
During their 66 years of marriage they moved back and forth between Missouri and Arizona, making their final move to Missouri in 1992.
Feldra had a passion for reading and sewing. She also enjoyed swimming. Her family remembers her always taking pictures and writing stories. She and Charles enjoyed traveling to places they had never been before. Feldra remained an active member in her church until her health no longer permitted her to do so.
Feldra savored the time she spent with her family, whom she loved very much. She looked forward to their visits. She enjoyed camping trips and long four-wheeler rides with them. Feldra’s craft making was something she loved sharing with her grandchildren. Feldra was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be dearly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Teddy Alvin; a sister, LaWanda Ruth Pitts; and a brother, AJ Branham.
Survivors include her husband, Charles; a daughter, Leetie Ann Buckner and husband, John, of Success, Mo.; two sons, Roy Dean Venable of Bucyrus, Mo., and Jonathan Andrew Venable and wife, Pam, of Mesa, Ariz.; two brothers, Donald Eugene Branham of Everson, Wash., and Howell Clayton Branham of Phoenix, Ariz.; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Services were 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 30, in the Latter Day Saints Church, Houston, Mo. Bishop Doc Openshaw conducted the services. Burial was in the Ellis Prairie Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Evans Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Jake Vonallmen, J.D. Moore, Travis Root, Michael Tottingham, Brian Calhoon and Elder Mo’unga.
