The Houston Police Department handled several investigations during the last week.

The following are excerpts from reports generated by the Houston Police Department:

•Amy J. Jackson-Paine 31, of No. 6 N. Water St. in Salem, was issued citations for stealing under $500 and first-degree trespassing after allegedly attempting to shoplift several items from the Houston Walmart. The trespassing violation resulted from Jackson-Paine being banned from Walmart after an incident in 2007. She was taken to the Texas County Jail, fingerprinted and released.

•Jackson C. Morgan, 38, of 4073 Highway 137 in Elk Creek, was arrested Jan. 22 for having multiple Texas County warrants.

An officer who knew of the warrants made the arrest after observing Morgan seated on a bench at Walmart. One of the warrants was for felony driving while revoked or suspended, as well as no insurance and no seatbelt, stemming from an April 2014 incident. The other was also for felony driving while revoked or suspended, as well as DWI (prior offender) stemming from an August 2014 incident.

Morgan was taken to the Texas County Jail, where he was unable to post $200,000 bond.

•Leonard E. Bay II, 38, of 6165 U.S. 63 in Houston, was issued a citation for third-degree assault after allegedly assaulting a man at Walmart on Jan. 18. He was taken to the Texas County Justice Center, booked and released.

•Martin Goodwin Jr., 22, of Mineral Drive and Roberson Road in Houston (unreported address number), and Charles J. Smith, 21, of 16247 Roberson Drive in Houston, were each issued citations for stealing under $500 after allegedly stealing a case of beer being delivered to a U.S. 63 convenience store that was stacked on a pallet outside the store at about 11:45 a.m. Jan. 9.

•Jerry L. Simmons, 39, of 615 W. Highway 17 in Houston, was issued a citation for driving while intoxicated after a two-vehicle accident at McDonald’s at about 3:40 p.m. Jan. 16. He was taken to the Texas County Jail.

•Angela L. Gossett, 23, of 17395 Highway BB in Licking, was issued citations for displaying plates of another and no insurance after a traffic stop on U.S. 63 at about 4:10 p.m. Jan. 20.
